1. Data We Collect

Account information: phone number, first name, last name
Email address: optional, only if used for registration
Profile picture: uploaded voluntarily via camera or photo library
Location: used only to calculate accurate prayer times, never stored on our servers
Device push token: used to send prayer reminders and group notifications
Reading progress: Quran reading sessions and recital assignment progress

2. How We Use Your Data

To create and manage your account
To display prayer times based on your location
To send you notifications about group activities and prayer reminders
To enable Quran recital group features (assignments, progress tracking)

3. Camera & Photo Library

The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you upload a profile or group picture. Images are uploaded to our secure servers and are not shared with third parties.

4. Location

Location is accessed only when you open the Prayer Times screen. It is used locally on your device to calculate prayer times and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. Your data is stored on secure servers. Your profile information is visible to members of your Iqra groups according to the group's settings.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account in two ways:

In the app: Profile → Delete account (processed immediately)
By email: contact us at cheikhahmadoubambaba00@gmail.com (processed within 7 days)

Upon deletion, all personal data — including your profile, group memberships, messages, assignments and push token — is permanently erased within 30 days.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
Right of rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
Right to erasure: request deletion of your data (see Section 6)
Right to object: object to certain types of processing
Right to portability: request your data in a portable format

8. Security

All communications between the app and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

9. Children

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
